The Anne Arundel Soil Conservation District carries out programs, both voluntary and mandated, which implement the policy of the State to provide for the conservation of soil, water, and related natural resources. The efforts of the District focus on the environmental effects of two diverse but equally essential areas of the local economy, agriculture and urban development.

Monthly Board Meetings
The Anne Arundel Soil Conservation District holds monthly board meetings on the third Wednesday of every month at 9:00 am in our Annapolis office. All meetings are open to the public unless otherwise stated. If you would like to attend any meeting, please contact the office for assistance.

The Anne Arundel Soil Conservation District plays a role in the prevention of erosion and sediment during construction activity. The Urban Division of the District reviews all sediment and erosion control plans for proposed construction projects in Anne Arundel County. The District partners with Anne Arundel County officials to ensure that developers plan and apply established sediment control practices to manage runoff and the control of soil erosion during construction.
